The Lab/Group interface serves as the PI’s and Lab Manager’s portal into managing group members & their permissions, and granting or removing access to funds. When you navigate to your lab, you will see the Members tab by default. There are 5 tabs in the PI’s lab that may be helpful when managing your lab. You will use the Members tab and the Membership Requests & Accounts/Cost Center tab most often. We will explore these tabs in more depth later in the training.

The Budgets tab provides tools for the PI or group manager to receive alerts based on a member’s core-level spending. By creating a budget, PIs can track how much lab members have spent against each core and receive an email notification when spending approaches the budget. NOTE: Budgets cannot be used to enforce spending limits in the system.
Learn about the budget functionality within iLab. This function is not tied to specific budget numbers. This is also not tied to account information in the Penn State Financial System.
The Bulletin Board may be used to communicate with members of your lab. You can post comments on the bulletin board within your lab, or send messages to other groups.
Group Settings is where you set the Lab Primary Contact as either the PI or the Lab Manager.
DO NOT EDIT the Name. PENN STATE follows a strict naming convention for labs in iLab. This should not be changed.
